This page contains various useful speech technology-related links.
For now, you can download the PlainTalk 1.5 Speech Control Panel,
which, when used with the PlainTalk speech synthesizers, allows you to control
the default voice parameters of your Macintosh, as well as have the text
in alert boxes read to you.
If you already have an older version of the synthesizers installed, then
simply adding this new control panel will enable the new features.
Alternatively, you could also do the full install of MacinTalk from
Apple's PlainTalk web site,
but that takes much longer.
Also listed below are pointers to the current Java Speech API (JSAPI)
beta documentation.
